When I first dabbled in setting up an online platform for my creative work, I ignored the KISS principle. I chose a domain name (MagruderCreative.com) that I imagined would be all-encompasing for photography, writing and any other creative work that Frances and I might venture to put out there.
Well, I’ve found after nearly a year of field testing that “MagruderCreative.com” is hard to hear in a crowded room and harder for my potential audience to remember the next day. Since 99.9% of my creative work to date has been photography, I decided to streamline and simplify my entire online presence by going with MagruderPhotography.com. I am doing my best to keep my ID on social media consistent with this, as much as the platform allows (ex., Twitter forces a shortened name “MagruderPhoto”).
